A brown cat lived in
the Eastside of Downtown Detroit in Michigan. The cat would break things
without knowing about it. The cat’s owners send him back to the Johnsons’
Animal Shelter in Grosse Pointe. The cat’s
last owner, Mr. Ron wanted to put him to sleep.
The employer, Mr.
Johnson told one of his employees, Mr. Clark to kill Marvin. However, the kind
Mr. Clark felt sorry for him and decided to leave him in the very dark and
lonely City of Detroit. Mr. Clark gave the cat a collar that read, “I hope your
next owner would be nice to you and have good luck in the future.”
The poor cat wandered in
the street tired and hungry but causing more accidents on the way. This made
angry mobs want to chase the cat to kill him. Nevertheless, the cat was saved
by a window cleaner named Luke Willis.
Luke took the cat to
his home and introduced him to his beautiful wife, Tonya, a beauty hairstylist.
Tonya was angry with Luke. “Luke, we are about to lose this apartment if we do
not pay our mortgage in one week, and you bought in a cat!!!!”
“Honey, do not worry!”
said Luke. “Once there is life, there is hope. Besides, the poor cat was nearly
killed by angry mobs.”
“Well, I guess we can
keep him,” said Tonya calmly. “What is his name?”
“The cat will be called
Marvin!” cried Luke. “I named him after my late grandfather.”
“Okay, Marvin, if you
want to stay here, you have to obey us and keep out of trouble!” ordered Tonya.
Poor Marvin told
himself this could be hard.
The following day,
Marvin began his usual accidental prone ways. Marvin broke things like
televisions, radios, windows and plates. This made Tonya angry. “Look at what
you did!” screamed Tonya. “How do you expect me to clean up this mess? I have
no choice but to give you a spanking!!!”
Just then Luke came in,
and Tonya explained everything to him. Tonya expected him to be angry, but to
her surprise Luke was laughing. He told the confused Tonya that Marvin was
their meal ticket out of poverty.
Luke took him to TV
shows, night clubs and children’s birthday parties. Everyone laughed and
enjoyed themselves. Soon the whole world began to love Marvin.
Soon, Luke paid his mortgages
after making a lot of money and moved to a bigger house in Canton, Michigan.
As soon as the couples
became wealthy, both couples began to neglect Marvin and forgot to pay their
bills.
Marvin began to destroy
things to get attention, but Luke and Tonya harshly told him to stop. However,
Marvin did not stop. He kept on breaking things until Luke had enough and threw
him out on the street.
Marvin wandered around
till he saw his former owner Mr. Ron who had also moved to Canton. “We meet
again and I would kill you with my bare hands.”
Alarmed, Marvin ran
across the street and got hit by a car. People ran to see what had happened. A
little boy said he saw Mr. Ron threaten the cat. Police officers who saw the incident
arrested Mr. Ron.
People rushed Marvin to
the hospital, but it was too late. Marvin died. News of Marvin’s death was
spread across the street. Luke and Tonya saw a picture of Marvin in the News. They were very sad.
Two weeks after the
death of Marvin, Tonya and Luke were told to leave their beautiful home since
they did not pay their bills. The devastated couples moved back to their old
neighborhood.
“We have reaped, what
we have sowed,” said Luke.
“If we were only nice
to Marvin,” said Tonya in tears. Just then, Marvin’s ghost appeared in front of
them “Don’t cry for me, for I am in a better place.” He gave them his collar.
“Give it to a special animal.” Marvin disappeared.
The following day, Luke
was taking a walk and saw an abandoned cat that looked like Marvin.
He took the cat home to
Tonya, who was happy to see another cat. “Let’s call him Marvin, Junior,” she
said, and Luke agreed.
Just then, an envelope
came under their door. In it was a check for $5 million, but the name of the
person who signed it was a secret.
Was it from the lovely
Mr. Clark, Mr. Ron, sympathizers, Mr. Johnson or Marvin’s ghost? What did Luke
and Tonya do with the money?
Did they use the money
to open their own animal shelter in different locations, pay their bills or
move to a bigger mansion?
The
End!!!!
Your story really made me laugh! Poor Marvin! I like the way you ended your story with a question. Does this mean you will have a follow-up story next semester?
